Turn order

Determining INITIATIVE

At the beginning of combat, everyone rolls their highest STAT and checks for successes. Whichever side got the highest number of total successes goes first for the first round.

EXAMPLE

Your team’s total successes are 13, while the opponent’s is 9, so the team goes first.

TURN ORDER

You choose amongst yourselves who gets to go in which order. This order can change every round if you wish and doesn’t have to be decided until it’s the start of a new round.

Starting first in a round alternates between players and opponents.

EXAMPLE

Your team goes first in the encounter. You all choose Emmeline, LH2 to go first. After Emmeline completes their turn, the GM chooses an opponent to go. After that opponent completes their turn, the team can choose anyone who has yet to take their turn. This continues until everyone has taken a turn.

On the second round of combat, the opponent side starts. The GM picks an opponent to go, then the team selects Sanat, LH2, to go. Emmeline doesn’t have to or get to go first just because they were first in the first round.

On the third round of combat, the players start again. Just because Emmeline went first in Round 1 doesn’t mean she needs to go first in Round 3. You can always change up the order of who goes when as long as everyone gets a turn.

Anyone in control of a unit (team, ally, or opponent) may decide to skip a turn. This is always an option.
