Tchanuul is a vast expanse of islands floating in the sky, each their own fantastical ecosystem. Here, specialization is the name of the game, and the Tchanuula are masters of quickly finding a niche, taking evolution into overdrive…as long as there’s a need for it. Each Tchanuula is born to a specific function, whether it be physical labour, child rearing, study, astrophysics, etc, but with a bit of work, can change their physiology to match any desired function. A Tchanuula built for examining the stars would have excellent night vision, magnifying eyes, and nictitating membranes, for example. Tchanuula society has developed to support these transitions. Even the influx of new technology hasn’t slowed or stopped their continued rapid evolution – only created more opportunities for specialization.
Tchanuula are very accepting people to the point of gullibility. Why disbelieve what you’ve seen happen? They tend to be gregarious but woe to anyone who tries to steal from them or treat them poorly. They can hold a grudge until the end of time.
WHERE THEY’RE FROM
Tchanuul feels like paradise in a thousand different fantastical varieties. Each floating island has its own magical structure and biome, but all are friendly to sentient life. In truth, these islands were experiments by massive stone giants who wanted to encourage the survival of the Tchanuul. Where the giants have gone, none can say, and very little is known about them, but the islands are still here and more are discovered every year.

HEALING
All that physiological transformation is driven by something and for the Tchanuul, they can deliberately harness that energy into healing themselves or allies. How this power manifests depends on the current form of the Tchanuula. This ability can be used at range, heal the target to maximum HP, and have three charges.
WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF?
Born resembling a naked mole rat, Tchanuula are chimerical in the extreme, often developing very disparate systems: metal, energy, flesh, mineral – if it provides the required advantage, they’ll grow it.
